Gorichka: Cultivating urban and rural agriculture relationships
Gorichka works in urban areas and collaborates with partners in peri-urban and rural regions. GOR contributes to building physical and managerial capacity while supporting policy development and lobbying efforts for urban agriculture and climate change solutions. In regard to urban agriculture, Gorichka and activists has created an urban garden from scratch, which involved conducting field research, forming a core team, and implementing key elements such as the garden fence, pathways, communal shed, solar panels, rainwater harvesting system, and fostering a strong community. Simultaneously, GOR organised various events to engage the local community, potential garden users, schools, decision- makers, businesses, non-governmental organizations, municipal representatives, and
members of the press/media.
