Urban agriculture is rapidly gaining momentum as cities around the world face increasing challenges from climate change, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable resource use. The FOODCITYBOOST project is at the forefront of addressing these challenges by fostering sustainable urban agricultural (UA) development, and we need your help to take this mission further!

Τake part in our forthcoming survey on Urban Agriculture!

Call for Participation: Help Us Learn from Your Experiences! To expand knowledge and bring innovative urban agriculture practices into the spotlight, FOODCITYBOOST’s partners institute of plant professionals, ASTREDHOR, and the University of Liege (Centre de Recherches en Agriculture Urbaine) are launching a global survey in September! Whether you’re an urban farmer, researcher, or policymaker involved in urban agriculture, your insights are invaluable to us. We want to hear about the innovative methods and strategies being used in urban farms around the world!

Why Now? Urban agriculture has never been more crucial. With cities under increasing environmental, financial, and social pressures, the knowledge gained from urban agriculture communities can help policymakers design the right frameworks to support sustainable, resilient food systems. A common practice in the past, it may be the time to bring the UA into the now!

What is FOODCITYBOOST? The FOODCITYBOOST project is a four-year project funded by Horizon Europe comprised of 20 actors from nine countries. It engages with more than 100 stakeholders across its six Living Labs to analyse UA on social, economic, and practitioner levels. It aims to document what works and what doesn’t. FOODCITYBOOST recognises the value of the experiences, knowledge, and practices that urban farmers bring to the table. This aligns with the rapid traction UA has been gaining recently. FOODCITYBOOST views UA as a critical component of sustainable city living and to this end it is launching a survey to gather the input from UA actors from all around the globe.

What’s in it for you? By participating in the survey, you will:

  • Contribute to a global database of UA practices that will serve as a knowledge hub for policymakers, researchers, and practitioners.
  • Potentially see your work showcased, featuring a variety of topics, such as agronomic, social, economic, and governance approaches from across the globe.
  • Help shape the future of urban agriculture policies, through providing insights

How to Get Involved: It’s simple! If you are involved in urban agriculture, or know someone who is, fill out the survey as soon as it is published and share your experiences. We are looking forward to learning from diverse practices and approaches that can inspire the future of sustainable urban agriculture.
